Communiqué on Import Inspection of Batteries and Accumulators (Product Safety and Inspection: 2016/15)

The purpose of this Communiqué is to regulate the principle and procedures relating inspections of products laid down in Annex 1 at import, with regard to their compliance to the Used Batteries And Accumulators Control Regulation.
All procedures regarding import inspections of batteries and accumulators shall be done via TAREKS and in accordance with the risk analysis. Following subjects are covered in the Communiqué:
- Risk analysis and Risk Based Control System in Foreign Trade (TAREKS)
- Environmental Compliance Permit
- List of the Products which are subject to Inspection on Import, based on the Used Batteries And Accumulators Control Regulation
- Batteries like Cardiac pacemaker or batteries mounted to medical devices, etc.
- Exemptions and Exceptions
- LETTER OF COMMITMENT TO THE MINISTRY OF ECONOMY
- Product Inspectorates Group Chairmanships and Directorate of Customs and Enforcement within their area of responsibility
